Welcome to Pure Hearts Pediatric Dentistry! We are so happy you’ve chosen us to care for your child’s precious smile.
We know that new experiences—especially at the dentist can feel overwhelming for children (and let’s be honest, for parents too). That’s why Dr. Jessica Simon created a different kind of dental home—one that feels calm, sensory-friendly, and full of heart from the moment you walk in.
At Pure Hearts Pediatric Dentistry, we’re honored to care for your child’s smile and help set the foundation for a lifetime of positive dental experiences. Whether it’s their very first dental visit or you’re looking for a more compassionate approach, we’re here to make the process smooth, supportive, and even joyful.
This page gives you everything you need to feel confident and prepared as a new patient at our Steele Creek pediatric dental office serving families across the greater Charlotte area..
At Pure Hearts, we take our time to build trust with your child and understand what makes them feel safe. We gently walk them through each step—at their pace—so it feels empowering, not overwhelming.
We’ll review their dental and medical history, get to know their preferences, and tailor our care to meet their unique needs. And yes—parents and guardians are welcome to stay close. Your insight is essential to your child’s care.
As a mom herself, Dr. Jessica Simon understands the importance of feeling seen, heard, and supported. That’s the heart behind everything we do.

You’ll be welcomed with warm smiles, calm voices, and a peaceful atmosphere designed to soothe and comfort—especially for children with sensory sensitivities.
Your visit begins with a heartfelt hello and a tour of our thoughtfully designed space, filled with calming colors, sensory-friendly features, and innovative technology that makes dentistry approachable—and even fun!
Whether your child is here for a routine check-up, preventive care, or they’ve had tough dental experiences in the past, our team meets them exactly where they are—with patience, empathy, and joy.
We proudly serve families in Steele Creek and the greater Charlotte area, and we invite you to experience a new kind of pediatric dentistry—where compassion meets innovation and every child is treated with care that reflects God’s heart.
To help make your child’s visit as smooth and stress-free as possible, we kindly ask that all new patient forms be completed before your appointment using our online portal. If you’re unable to complete them ahead of time, please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can stay on schedule and give every family the time and care they deserve.
If you’re bringing multiple siblings or your child needs additional time or support, feel free to let us know when scheduling—we’re happy to plan ahead to ensure the visit is peaceful and personalized for everyone.
We truly value your time—and the comfort of every child we serve—so thank you for helping us create a calm and timely experience for all.
From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted with smiles, soft voices, and a peaceful space created with your child in mind.
Once it’s your child’s appointment time, our focus shifts entirely to welcoming and supporting their needs.
We want to create a peaceful, joyful experience from the very start—so your preparation ahead of time makes a big difference. We’ll then be ready to begin at your child’s pace— with no distractions, no rush, and all heart.
You’ll meet Dr. Jessica Simon and our team in a calm, relaxed, friendly way. We explain everything in simple age appropriate, child friendly language—and this reassures your child giving them space to feel comfortable before we begin.
We’ll take time to understand your child’s full health picture—including any allergies, medications, or developmental needs.
You’ll also complete a brief Sensory Questionnaire, to help us understand what calms your child, what may overwhelm them, and how we can support them best.
We’ll gently examine your child’s teeth, gums, bite, and oral development. We use child-sized tools and a slow, calm approach, helping your child feel safe and in control throughout the process.
If needed, we may take low-radiation digital X-rays to get a complete view of your child’s oral health. We only take X-rays when necessary—and we’ll always explain why first.
If your child is comfortable and ready, we may gently clean their teeth and apply fluoride to strengthen and protect them.
We always walk you and your child through each step before we begin—because trust is more important than rushing.
We believe education is a form of empowerment.
Our team will share simple encouraging tips on brushing, flossing, and healthy snack-time habits tailored to your child’s age—so you feel confident about caring for their smile at home.
After the exam, Dr. Simon will review everything with you and answer your questions.
You’ll leave with a care plan created just for your child—whether that includes regular checkups, preventive treatments, or gentle strategies for future visits.
Every brave moment matters. We celebrate each child with encouragement and praise.
Whether it’s a high-five, kind words, or a visit to our prize wall, your child will leave feeling proud and empowered.seen, and celebrated.
At Pure Hearts Pediatric Dentistry, we want every family to feel supported—not stressed—when it comes to insurance. We proudly accept all PPO dental plans and are in-network with several providers. Not sure if yours is one of them? We’re happy to help.
We know insurance can feel like a maze, but you’re not walking it alone. Our team is here with open hands and open hearts to help you understand your benefits and make the most of them.
As a courtesy, we’ll gladly verify your insurance and submit all claims on your behalf after each visit. And even if we’re not in-network, many PPO plans still offer great out-of-network coverage.
The best way to confirm your benefits is to contact your insurance provider directly and find out if we’re in-network to contact your insurance provider directly. If you’re not sure what to ask—we’ll walk you through it.
Whether this is your first time using PPO dental insurance or you’re navigating it again—we’re here to make it easier, with warmth, clarity, and care.
Because at Pure Hearts, you’re more than a patient—you’re family.
We understand that you may have several questions as a new parent at Pure Hearts Pediatric Dentistry.
Here are some of the most common questions we receive:
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child’s first dental visit should occur after the eruption of the first tooth or by one year of age, whichever comes first. Early dental visits help establish a dental home and allow us to provide preventive care and guidance from a young age.
